2020 Summer Camps

In 2020, Last Raps Baseball, will be offering it’s summer programs with limited available spots for registration. We will be following guidelines and directives provided by ViaSport and Baseball British Columbia as well as monitoring the information provided to us by our local health authorities.

In partnership with Baseball BC beginning in July and running until late August, Last Raps Baseball will offer 8 weeks of camps. The lead instructor for these camps will be Fred Beitler and will be assisted by those who have college or professional playing and/or coaching experience. From time to time community high school aged players will volunteer their time at our camps. We select those who have participated in the Last Raps Baseball camps or clinics in previous years.

Structure

These camps will feature a number of different skill stations where young ball players will rotate through these stations receiving various skill specific instruction from coaches and players. Skill stations will include but are not restricted to, base running, throwing, hitting, infield, pitching, outfield etc. In the afternoon portion of the camp, we will scrimmage. Campers will be classified first by age and then grouped by ability. Though all skill level and abilities of players are welcomed, we strongly suggest that your young ball player is interested in the sport of baseball.

Weather

In the event of inclement weather, Friday is reserved as a rain date. The decision to defer or cancel a day because of inclement weather will be made by 9:00am on the day of the event. For the current information, follow us on Twitter for camp updates. If rain is in the forecast early in the day, but it is expected to clear through the day, it is likely that the camp will continue to run that day. You will be notified in the event of cancellation. In the two weeks where Monday is a holiday, there will not be a rain date for the camp.

Clothing

Players will need to bring their own gloves, batting helmets, bats, baseball shoes, (batting gloves if they so choose) and a lunch. Those who attend need to be appropriately outfitted for baseball activities. If players do not have baseball pants, track pants and sweat pants are acceptable. Short pants are Not acceptable baseball attire those playing the sport.

Last Raps Baseball will not supply water re-fills for the participants, so parks that may not have access to public water, it is recommended that you bring ample fluids to properly stay hydrated.
